Lynchburg City Schools has openings for school bus drivers.

Candidates must be 18 years of age or older, and possess (or be willing to obtain) a VA Commercial Drivers License.

  • Candidates are paid, tutored and trained to obtain their Commercial Drivers License (CDL).
  • Starting pay during training is $7.80 per hour.
  • Pay increase received after successful completion of training.
  • Contract offers are based upon previous bus driving experience.
  • Applicants must also have a medical exam, a drug screening, and must pass an extensive DMV and criminal background check.
