Kick Butts Day Press Conference To Be Held At E.C. Glass

Lynchburg, VA – In recognition of KICK BUTTS DAY, a press conference will be held Wednesday, April 2, 2008 at 3:30 p.m. on the steps of E.C. Glass High School.
In conjunction with area high schools and colleges, there will be an all day display of shoes on the E.C. Glass lawn to represent the 1200 people that die each day from tobacco use. After the press conference, members of the E.C. Glass Key Club, as well as students from Heritage, Brookville and Jefferson Forest will have a cigarette butt collection with educational posters for the public to see. This will take place around E.C. Glass High School and Miller Park.
Press conference speakers will include E.C. Glass Principal Susan Morrison, Mayor Joan Foster and Dr. Michael Valentine.
KICK BUTTS DAY is an annual event nationwide, organized by the Campaign for Tobacco Free Kids. It is a celebration of youth activism in the fight against tobacco use.
