The arts are still alive and well in Lynchburg City Schools. And on March 10 and 12th parents and the public will get a unique (and free) opportunity to experience the artistic talent of our students during two nights of performances.

The event is called “Music in Our Schools”. On March 10 at 7:00 p.m. in the E.C. Glass Civic Auditorium, students from the 11 elementary schools will perform “On the Radio” by John Jacobson. “On the Radio” is a compilation of timeless tunes from the radio. Artwork from all the schools will also be on display.

On March 12th the high schools and middle schools will display their vocal talents during their choral festival. Each of the five schools will feature all of the choral groups they offer, both during and after school hours. Some of the Heritage High School groups that will be featured are “New Heritage Singers”, “Chante”, and the HHS Concert Choir, all under the direction of Mrs. Barbara Elliott. The E.C. Glass High School Choral Department will feature the E.C. Glass Concert Choir, and both male and female a’cappella groups – “The A’Cafellas” and the “A’Cabellas”, all under the direction of Dr. Nancy Volk- Stalcup.

Again, the two day event is free and open to the public. We welcome you to come celebrate the arts with us!
