Congratulations to the E.C. Glass Class of 2009!
On graduation day, walk into any high school in America and you’ll see something a bit unusual – every student smiling, every student dressed in their best, but best of all, every student excited to be at school. On June 13, 2009, the day of commencement at both E.C. Glass and Heritage High Schools, students at both schools burst with anticipation, proud of what they had accomplished—finishing four years of high school.
In all, 498 students received high school diplomas that day. Fifty-eight students graduated with a grade point average of 4.0 or higher and 82 graduated with a grade point average of 3.8 or higher. Eleven students made a grade of A in every high school course they took.
Lynchburg City School high school graduates earned more than $10.3 million scholarships in all. Next year, our students will attend 98 different schools of higher education.
