The Heritage High School Marine Corps Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps is one of the top five programs in the nation.  This is the first time in the Heritage High School’s MCJROTC 32 year history that it has achieved this level of recognition.  There are 221 programs across the nation.  The other four schools in the top five come from Clearwater, FL, Louisville, KY, Commerce City, CO, and New Orleans, LA.

In addition, Heritage’s MCJROTC is the number one program in Region 1.  Region 1 covers 9 states, 50 schools and approximately 50,000 students. As a result of the Corps’ success, it was recognized during the 2008-2009 year with the Marine Corps Reserve Association Award and it was named a Naval Honor School.
