Lynchburg Parks & Recreation is pleased to announce winter-break programming for youth, Winter at the Center. Discover the language of winter, the traditions of winter, the images of winter, the art of winter, the rhythms of winter, and the winter environment. During Winter at the Center, each Center explores the season in the neighborhood with winter-themed activities lead by center staff, guest instructors, and neighborhood guides. Winter at the Center will be held on weekdays January 3 through 14, 2011, from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m. at participating neighborhood centers:

College Hill Center, 811 Jackson Street
Daniel’s Hill Center, 314 Cabell Street
Diamond Hill Center, 1005 17th Street
Jefferson Park Center, 405 York Street
Yoder Community, 109 Jackson Street

Winter at the Center is designed to engage the community in healthy, active, and educational activities. The session is open to youth ages six to seventeen. Registration is required. There is a registration fee of $10 per family. Space is limited, so register early. For more information, please contact Parks & Recreation at 434-455-5858.
