Having a backpack full of the right schools supplies is key when a student walks through the doors that first day of school. But buying those school supplies can empty out the wallet fast! Thanks to generous donations from Walmart, Q-99, and Liberty University’s Athletes, LCS students have the tools they need for a successful school year.

Walmart donated $2000 worth of school supplies to Lynchburg City Schools during radio station Q-99’s annual Pack The Bus Campaign. The day of the event, a Lynchburg City School bus was parked in front of the Wards Road store so local residents could drop off donations. Walmart and our generous Lynchburg citizens ensured the LCS school bus was pack with supplies for children throughout the division.

Meanwhile, down the street at Liberty University the student athletes were coming up with a school supply game plan of their own. The group, consisting of athletes from almost every sport, collected money from their fellow Flames, to fill up three boxes of school supplies for each elementary school in the Lynchburg City School Division. Once their task was complete, they invited all eleven principals to the LU football stadium to present them with the supplies.
