Lynchburg city’s two high schools took home top honors at the Dixie Classic Band Competition at Danville’s George Washington High School in late September. Heritage and E. C. Glass High Schools took first place in each category in their class, including Drum Major, Percussion, Color Guard, Marching and Maneuvering, Music and General Effect.  And to top it off Heritage was named Grand Champion after receiving the highest scores of the entire competition.   Fifteen bands from across the state competed in the Dixie Classic.
