The E. C. Glass Air Force JROTC Drill Team will represent the Western Region at the American Legion State Drill Championship in Virginia Beach in March. Their victory during the 2011 Big Orange Classic this November sealed their fate. As the lone Air Force team, Glass competed against five Marine units, two Navy units and one Army unit to take home the top honors – the Grand Champion trophy.
During the Big Orange Classic, hosted by Heritage High School, the E. C. Glass team also took home trophies in the following categories:
- American Legion Western Region Champion
- Platoon/ Flight Unarmed – 1st Place
- Platoon/ Flight Armed – 1st Place
- Individual Unarmed – 1st Place
- Individual Armed – 1st Place
- 1st Year Unarmed Squad – 1st Place
- 1st Year Armed Squad – 1st Place
- Inspection – 2nd Place
- Squad Unarmed – 2nd Place
