Dome TheaterLinkhorne Middle School students got to experience what it would feel like to be caught in the middle of a deadly storm, take an adventure inside the human body, and stand on the deck of the doomed Titanic the night she sank.

And the students loved it, according to the school’s Library Media Specialist Pete Sengenberger.

The Dome Theater Mobile Planetarium came to LMS on February 28, and more than 400 students rotated through the Dome during the school day. It was originally intended for use during non-school hours as part of the 21st Century Community Learning Centers grant, so many students and family members were able to experience the Dome after school as well.

Nine LCS elementary and middle schools have 21st Century Community Learning Centers that extend the learning opportunities beyond the regular school day. They are customized to fit the needs of the students and parents at each school.
