Judges selected many poems, essays and short fiction written by Lynchburg City Schools students to advance to the regional level in the 2012 Young Authors Competition.
LCS students division-wide submitted their work to be judged by area teachers as part of the Piedmont Area Reading Council’s annual writing competition. The work was judged alongside submissions from Holy Cross and James River Day School. First-, second- and third-place awards were given for each grade level in each category.
The regional judging will take place later this spring.
