Dear Parents, Guardians, and Student Athletes:

Lynchburg City Schools is reminding parents and students to get their sports physicals early, before preseason training starts this year. Students who want to participate in school sports for the school year of 2012-2013 must have an up-to-date physical dated May 1, 2012 or later.

High school fall sports start training on July 30, 2012. All participants need a physical and emergency release signed by a parent to be able to play. Virginia High School League (VHSL) physical forms can be found here and at www.livehealthylynchburg.com

Pre-season work-outs and training for winter and spring sports are permitted this year. Students must have a physical and emergency release on file in order to participate in any pre-season sports activities.

Lynchburg City Schools will be limiting sports physicals held at school facilities to students who do not have a primary care physician. Students should go to their own doctor’s office for sports physicals because that is where all health related issues for the student can be checked. If a student does not have a primary care physician, please contact your school’s athletic director or your coach.

Don’t wait for the last minute—get your Sports Physical done NOW!
