Writing AwardsLCS students around the entire division have been recognized recently in a number of award ceremonies for their writing talents. 

 

German Essay Winners Announced

German students from Paul Laurence Dunbar Middle School for Innovation, Heritage High School and E. C. Glass High School participated in the second annual German essay contest, "Aufsatzwettbewerb," this spring. The essays were judged by Dr. Ron Horwege, a professor at Sweet Briar College. Winners were announced in April during the German awards reception.

Top 10 Anne Spencer Poetry Contest Winners

Ten winners were selected from 225 poetry entries in the 22nd Annual Anne Spencer Poetry Contest. Winners were recognized at an awards ceremony in May at the Anne Spencer Garden.

All students were honored during an awards ceremony in April at Liberty University in April.

 

Lynchburg Museum Essay Contest Winners

The Lynchburg Museum announced the winners of the essay contest: American Turning Point-Understanding the Civil War.

Winners were recognized in May during a First Fridays event.
