HHS Football Team Help with Back to School PreparationTwo groups of high school students gave a helping hand in August as schools prepare their new locations for opening day.

The E. C. Glass JROTC students moved furniture and boxes for the alternative education program that was formerly housed at the Amelia Pride Center. That program is now located at Fort Hill Community School.

Additionally, the Heritage High School football team lent a hand to help move items into the new Hutcherson Early Learning Center that is now located at 2401 High Street. John Meadows, the HHS assistant football coach, said team members do at least two big volunteer events a year as well as several little things throughout the year. Last year, the group helped clear out more than 200 tires that were illegally dumped on Top Ridge Road.
