The 10th Annual Senior Honors Recognition program and dinner was held on, May 4, 2014 to recognize thirty of Lynchburg City Schools’ top academic (GPA) students. Fifteen E. C. Glass and fifteen Heritage High School students were honored. Also attending were parents/guardians, special teacher guests, school board members, Foundation trustees, school administrators, and representatives from Lynchburg’s seven local colleges and universities. Erik Nygaard, a graduate of Lynchburg City Schools, is an engineer with The Babcock & Wilcox Company who has chosen to return to the area and make Lynchburg his home, provided an insightful and often amusing keynote address for our young graduates to help prepare these students with what to expect as they face the next phase of their education.

During the program each student was presented with a Certificate of Academic Excellence signed by the school superintendent and school board chairperson
