Throughout the month of May, LCS student artwork will be showcased on GLTC buses around the city.

RIDE Solutions, in partnership with GLTC and Lynchburg City Schools, is launching the first Art By Bus project.  Art By Bus will turn several city buses into rolling art galleries by displaying transportation-themed artwork created by 99 LCS elementary and middle school students and selected by the school art teachers.

“I think this is great partnership between the schools and GLTC” says Karen Walton, GLTC General Manager.  “Transit bus service is so important to the communities that they serve and this art work cements the idea that Lynchburg residents are a close knit group of people”.

“With projects like these, the Lynchburg community continues to promote the exceptional works of art created by Lynchburg City Schools students,” said LCS Superintendent Scott Brabrand.  “We appreciate RIDE Solutions and GLTC’s partnership to share these remarkable talents with members of the community.”

The following students’ Art By Bus submissions were selected to receive a Gift Certificate from RIDE Solutions and GLTC.  The Art By Bus winners’ artwork will also be presented at the new GLTC Transfer Center Opening Ceremony.
