Informational meetings have been scheduled to help all interested parents learn more about Lynchburg City Schools’ gifted, accelerated, and advanced opportunities. Information will be shared about how students are identified for gifted services and accelerated opportunities at the elementary level as well as helpful steps about how to enroll your child in advanced courses at the middle school and high school levels. Guidance counselors will be present to discuss any specific questions you may have about your child’s progress.

Three sessions are scheduled. Parents are encouraged to attend the session which serves your child’s particular school. 

Monday, December 1
Dunbar Middle School Media Center - 7:00 p.m.

Parents living in the following school zones are invited to attend: Robert S. Payne, Perrymont, T. C. Miller, Dunbar, E. C. Glass, and Heritage High School

Thursday, December 4
Linkhorne Middle School Cafeteria - 7:00 p.m.

Parents living in the following school zones are invited to attend: Linkhorne Elementary, Bedford Hills, Paul Munro, Dearington, Linkhorne Middle, and E. C. Glass

Monday, December 8
Sandusky Middle School Media Center - 7:00 p.m.

Parents living in the following school zones are invited to attend: William Marvin Bass, Sheffield, Heritage Elementary, Sandusky Elementary, Sandusky Middle, and Heritage High School

This meeting is strictly informational by design. Its purpose is to inform parents of available resources for gifted and accelerated students. If you are unable to attend and would like more information about gifted and accelerated opportunities, please contact your school’s counselor.
