Lynchburg City Schools elementary students are learning many things this school year, including the importance of giving to those in need.

At Bedford Hills, members of the Student Council Association began a food drive for the Salvation Army when one of the members saw on television that the organization was in need of breakfast items. Students helped to load the items on the Salvation Army truck before the Thanksgiving break.

At Sandusky Elementary, students came up with the plan to do their own “Canstruction” based on a competition to create sculptures with cans and give the cans to those in need. Cans were then donated directly to SES families in need for the Thanksgiving holiday.
