The 12th Annual Senior Honors Recognition program and dinner was held on, May 1, 2016 to recognize thirty of Lynchburg City Schools’ top academic (GPA) students. Fifteen E. C. Glass and fifteen Heritage High School students were honored. Students could invite two family guests as well as a teacher from his/her K-12 educational experience who had a lasting impact on the student’s life. Also attending were school board members, Foundation trustees, school administrators, and representatives from our sponsoring colleges and universities.

Geoffrey Kershner, Executive Director of the Academy Center for the Arts and area graduate who has chosen to return to our community and make Lynchburg his home, provided an amusing but insightful keynote address for our young graduates to help prepare these students for the next phase of their education. Students were individually recognized and received a certificate honoring their success.
