The Lynchburg City Schools Education Foundation is a non-profit organization that works to support the Lynchburg City Schools. Our programs and projects bring additional resources to our school division to benefit our students and teachers! We are growing and are looking for someone who is passionate about public education to join our team. This is a part time position, reporting to the Executive Director.

POSITION
Part-time Administrative Assistant for the Lynchburg City Schools Education Foundation.

JOB DESCRIPTION
Clerical and administrative support for a small non-profit organization with  other duties as assigned by the program director.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Primarily responsible for the overall support of a non-profit organization and the continued growth and operation of our programs. These responsibilities include, but are not limited to: data management, basic bookkeeping, preparing and typing professional communications, support and growth of the Tools4Schools Warehouse as needed, assisting with planning, registration, and execution of events, basic grant writing, development of presentations, preparation of annual newsletter and other marketing materials, management of social media to include working with LCS webmaster to post announcements and updates to the Education Foundation website, and other duties as requested by the director. The position may require interaction with donors and sponsors and requires confidentiality.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and careful attention to detail required.
  • Exceptional written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills required.
  • Exceptional skills in MicroSoft Word, EXCEL, Powerpoint, and Publisher required.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Experience with social media a strong plus.
  • Experience as a bookkeeper a plus.
  • Personal transportation.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
Professional work history with strong references required.

EMPLOYMENT INFORMATION 
This is a part time, 8 hours/week, 12-month position with the Lynchburg City Schools Education Foundation, Inc., located in the Lynchburg City Schools Administration Building, 915 Court Street, Lynchburg, VA 24504.
