Grant Criteria
For 2013-2014 Grants:
- Applications for Classroom Innovation Grants will be accepted starting Monday, April 15, 2013 until 5:00 p.m. on Friday, September 13, 2013.
- Applications for Master Classroom Innovation Grants will be accepted starting Tuesday, May 28, 2013 until 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 21, 2013.
- School or team proposals from those affecting either an entire grade or subject level to those affecting the entire school population or division, are encouraged as are individual teacher proposals.
Primary consideration will be given to applications which:
- Reward academic achievement
- Supplement/enrich the curriculum
- Affect the most students possible
- Have measurable results
- Program initiated in the coming grant cycle
- Benefit a diverse student group
- Reflect a need that is not being met by existing programs
Characteristics of projects not typically funded are those which request:
- Budget without details
- Materials or supplies ordinarily included in the school/division budget
- Materials which have no creative, measurable use described for them
- Funding for snacks
- Projects that qualify for other funding sources
- Field trips or other travel funding as the primary budget item
- Supplementary pay for teachers as a budget item
- Conferences, seminars, or events
- Continuing funds for previously funded grant program/project
Funding Areas
Priority funding will be made for proposals which meet the general criteria and which address one of the following areas:
- Behavior Management
- Career Tech
- Cultural Arts
- Enrichment Activities
- Foreign Language
- Math
- Reading
- Science
- Social Studies
- Special Education
- Technology Application
- Writing
