Phase 3 of the construction process is well underway. The old Heritage High School building is being demolished and new parking and athletic fields will be installed. Below is a time-lapse video of the demolition to date.

The new Heritage High School is really coming along. If you've driven down Timberlake Road in the past few months, you've seen the outdoor progress, but now you can get a glimpse inside. Check out the wide hallways and natural lighting. Plus, the science classrooms have tables, cabinets, and sinks already installed! On Wednesday, November 11, 2015, Lynchburg City Schools took three area legislators on a tour of the Career Tech program and the new Heritage High School, which is on track to open for students in the fall of 2016. Click here for the story.
Progress continues on the new Heritage High School with substantial portions of the building now under roof and finish work started in many classrooms. The roof will be installed on the auditorium, gymnasium, locker rooms, and administration areas this fall, allowing finish work to progress to these areas during the winter. The new parking lot in front of the school has been installed and site work is beginning on the bus loop with paving scheduled for late fall.

The new Heritage High School project remains on time and on budget. Baseball and softball fields are complete as well as the Field House (Phase I). Significant progress is being made on the new school. Site work and utilities, retaining walls, footings, foundation walls, underground electrical and plumbing, floor slabs, masonry, and steel erection are all in progress. These activities will be continuing throughout the winter weather permitting.

Lynchburg City Council and School Board members were joined by over 100 hundred supporters at the Heritage High School Groundbreaking Ceremony on April 22nd. Click here for more.
The Heritage High School Groundbreaking Ceremony will be on April 22nd at 10:00 a.m. at the existing HHS athletic fields. Click here for a copy of the invitation. This event is open to the public.
