Reporting to Parents - Policy P7-26

A. Report Cards
Report cards shall reflect the standard of work the student has achieved, his/her attitude toward school work, and his/her work habits. Report cards shall be issued to all students at nine weeks intervals except in the case in which the school board has granted a variance.

B. Parental Conferences
Frequent communication between teachers and parents is strongly encouraged. Each teacher shall endeavor to initiate parental conferences and contacts. It is suggested that elementary teachers have at least two scheduled conferences with the parents of children he/she teaches each year. Secondary teachers are encouraged to confer with parents as frequently as practical and certainly when he/she becomes aware of a need to do so. All teachers and administrators are to be immediately responsive to a request from parents for a conference.
