School Attendance Areas - Regulation R7-12

Specific Boundaries:
A list of various school boundaries and maps illustrating said boundaries which have been approved by the school board are available through the director of student services. A street-by-street description of school zones follows.

Maintaining Proper Enrollment:
Principals or their designees shall make reasonable efforts to ensure that accurate addresses are maintained on students and that only those living within school boundaries (in accordance with board policies 7-12, 7-14) are enrolled in their schools.

A. Elementary Zones

1. Paul Munro
The area bounded by the north side of Rivermont Avenue and Boonsboro Road (even numbers) from 2800 block of Rivermont Avenue west of Randolph Macon Woman's College and all side streets to the city limits at Mill Lane.

2. Bedford Hills
Southside of Rivermont Avenue and Boonsboro Road (odd numbers from 2800 block at Randolph Macon Woman's College west to the city limits and all side streets off this portion and south to and including Wiggington Road west of Ivy circle to the 2600 block (Ivy Creek) to Link Road and all side streets west of this portion of Link Road to 198 Parkland Drive; east from Parkland Drive to intersection of Langhorne Road and Rivermont Terrace; south from the intersection of Rivermont Terrace and Langhorne Road to the Southern Railroad tracks at Blackwater Creek and all side streets north of this line; north from Blackwater Creek to Bedford Avenue; southeast on Bedford Avenue to Marshall Street and all side streets north; north on Marshall Street to Rivermont Avenue and all side streets west; south on Rivermont Avenue to (but not including) Cabell Street to city limits and all side streets north.

3. Linkhorne Elementary
Both sides of Langhorne Road from 1200 block (intersection of Rivermont Terrace and Langhorne Road) through the 1700 block (N & W Railroad) and all side streets off this portion of Langhorne Road east to the abandoned N & W Railroad right-of-way and west to Link Road; east side of Link Road (even numbers) from 1500 block (Boonsboro Road) through the 2600 block (Ivy Creek) and all side streets east off this portion of Link Road; both sides of Link Road from 2700 block (Ivy Creek) through the 3100 block (Old Forest Road) and all side streets off this portion of Link Road; both sides of Old Forest Road from 2300 block (N & W Railroad - new bridge) and all side streets off this portion of Old Forest Road excluding Chapel Lane.

4. Dearington
West side of Memorial Avenue (odd numbers) from 2000 block (Langhorne Road) through the 1600 block (Southern Railroad) and all side streets north of Memorial Avenue; north from the Southern Railroad line to Blackwater Creek; northwest from Blackwater Creek to the abandoned N & W Railroad line rightof- way; south from N & W Railroad line to the 2300 block of Old Forest Road and all side streets east; southeast from the 2300 b lock of Old Forest Road to Blackwater Creek and all side streets north; Blackwater Creek north to Tate Springs Road and all side streets northwest (excluding Hillside Court); north on Tate Springs Road to the 2200 block of Langhorne Road; east from 2200 b lock of Langhorne Road to Memorial Avenue and all side streets north.

5. Kizer
From the 300 block of Lakeside Drive and Oakley Avenue south through Oakley Avenue north to the intersection of Lakeside Drive and Murrell Road and all side streets west; west from the intersection of Lakeside Drive and Murrell Road to the Southern end of Tate Springs Road; southern end of Tate Springs Road southwest to the intersection of Old Forest Road and Hill Street; from the 1400 block of Old Forest Road northwest through N & W Railroad bridge on Old Forest Road and all side streets west; from the N & W Railroad bridge west to the city limits (including Chapel Lane) and all side streets south; from city limits/APCO Power Line south to Blackwater Creek (excluding Breezewood Drive) and all side streets east; from Blackwater Creek northeast to Lakeside Drive and all side streets north; from Lakeside Drive north to Oakley Avenue and all side streets north.

6. R. S. Payne
East of Park Avenue from the 800 block of Monroe Street through the 1500 block of Monroe Street (excluding Monroe Street), continuing south on 15th Street (including 15th Street) to the Southern Railroad tracks; from intersection of Langhorne Road and Memorial Avenue north west on Langhorne Road to Tate Springs Road and all sides streets south; southwest on Tate Springs Road (including Yorktown Avenue) and southeast to Murrell Road and Lakeside Drive; southwest on Memorial Avenue from the 1500 block (Southern Railroad Line through the 2000 block of Langhorne Road all side streets off south side of Memorial Avenue; both sides of Memorial Avenue 2000 block and all side streets off this portion; north of Brook Street but not including Brook Street; Brook Street southeast to Fort Avenue eastside of Fort Avenue (odd numbers) from the 2500 block (Brook Street) to the 3000 block (Wythe Road) to the expressway southwest following the expressway to McKinney Avenue (but not including McKinney Avenue) southeast to the city limits; northeast on city limits to the Southern Railroad line tracks; north following the Southern Railroad line and all side streets between.

7. Perrymont
3100 block Memorial Avenue south to the intersection of Memorial Avenue and Fort Avenue and all side streets west; from intersection of Memorial Avenue and Fort Avenue south to the imaginary line between Westview and Moseley Drives and all side streets north; Fort Avenue north following the imaginary line between Westview and Moseley to Blackwater Creek and all streets east; follow Blackwater Creek northeast to Lakeside Drive east on Lakeside Dr. to Oakley Avenue and all side streets east; east on Oakley Avenue to Richmond Avenue (but not including Richmond Ave.) south on Richmond Avenue to Langhorne Lane and all side streets north; west on Langhorne Lane to Memorial Avenue (but not including Langhorne Lane and all streets south).

8. Sandusky Elementary
West side of Fort Avenue (odd numbers) from 5500 block (south of but not including Westview Drive) through the 6100 block (Burton Creek) and all streets west off this portion of Fort Avenue to Blackwater Creek; north of N & W Railroad line from Fort Avenue west to Dreaming Creek and all side streets north except Old Mill Apt./Millwood Apt./ Millstream Ln.; Dreaming Creek south to Timberlake Road; Timberlake Road past Candlewood Court, and all side streets north; follow imaginary line between Candlewood Court and Parkwood Drive west to a point where B & W crosses at the city limits; following the city limits north to the APCO Power line to 221; follow APCO Power Line South to Burton Creek including all of Breezewood; following Burton Creek/Blackwater Creek northeast to Sandusky Park south to an imaginary line between Moseley and Westview Drives.

9. Heritage Elementary
Both sides of Timberlake Road west to the city limits from city limits south to the N&W Railroad line north excluding all streets bounded by the area of Dreaming Creek and N & W Railroad Line; imaginary line from city limits and Parkwood Drive and Candlewood Court.

10. Sheffield
East side of Fort Avenue (even numbers) from the 3107 block (Wythe Road) through the 6100 block (Burton Creek) and all side streets east off this portion of Fort Avenue and north of Burton Creek, south of Wards Road, east of the N & W Railroad lines, east city limits and north to a line from the Expressway east to the city limits in a line running just south of Cohen Place.

11. Bass
Follow expressway from city limits west to Union Street and all side streets south; south on Union Street to Florida Avenue, south on Florida Avenue to Grace Street and all streets east, Florida Avenue north on Grace Street to the expressway and follow the expressway to the Southern Railroad line and all streets south, follow Southern Railroad line south of Green Street to 460 and city limits and all streets east, follow city limits east to James River and all streets north; except the Adjustment Zone #7.

12. T. C. Miller
From the 2500 block of Fort Avenue north between Brook and Wadsworth (including Brook and Glenwood) to the Plaza Shopping Center including Judith, Wilton, Alleghany Avenue and Bay St. and all side streets south; south to Richmond Street; south on Richmond Street to Langhorne Lane and all streets east including Richmond Street; east on Langhorne Lane to Memorial Avenue and all side streets north but not including Langhorne Lane; south from the 3100 block of Memorial Avenue to the intersection of Memorial Avenue and Fort Avenue and all side streets east of Memorial Avenue; north from the intersection of Fort Avenue and Memorial Ave. to the 2800 block of Fort Avenue and all side streets to the west.

B. Elementary Adjustment Zones

1. Bedford Hills
East on 5th Street from the 1500 block (southern Railroad line) to 5th and Harrison Street and all side streets north; north on Harrison Street to 4th Street east on 4th Street to the Southern Railroad Line and all streets north to Blackwater Creek; from Blackwater Creek south to 1500 block of Memorial Avenue along side the Southern Railroad line; 500 block of Monroe Street and all side streets west; 700 block of Monroe west to Park Ave. and all side streets north; south on Park Avenue to the Southern Railroad line and all side streets north; north from Southern Railroad line to 5th Street and all side streets east; 5th Street east to Monroe Street and all side streets south (excluding Lynchburg High Apt./1301 Park Avenue and College Hill Apts. #2/1400 - 7th Street).

2. Paul Munro - A
City limits southwest on 8th street (including 8th Street both sides) to Monroe to 5th Street east on 5th Street to Harrison Street north on Harrison Street to 4th Street east on 4th Street to Southern Railroad line east on Southern Railroad line to city limits and all streets within the zone.

Paul Munro - B
From Blackwater Creek to Southern Railroad line north to Bedford Avenue from Bedford Avenue east to Dinwiddie Street from Dinwiddie Street to Hollins Mill Road an Blackwater Creek (but not including Dinwiddie Street) and all streets within.

3. Perrymont
City limits southwest on 8th street (not including 8th Street) to Taylor Street (and all side streets east); south on Taylor Street to 15th Street including Taylor Street and all side streets east; east on 15th Street to Grace Street and all side streets north; north on Grace Street to 12th Street east on 12th Street to city limits and all side streets north.

4. Sandusky Elementary
From the James River west on 12th Street to Grace Street; Grace Street south to Knight Street to 15th Street (not including 15th Street) through Taylor Street (including Taylor Street) to Knight Street to Grace Street; Grace Street east to Florida Avenue; Florida Avenue north to Union Street; Union Street north to the expressway; expressway east to the James River and all side streets within, including all of Grace Street and Knight Street, bur excluding all of Union Street.

5. Sheffield
15th Street and Taylor Street southwest on 15th Street to Southern Railroad line to Lynchburg Expressway to expressway east to Grace Street; Grace Street north to Taylor Street (not including Taylor Street) and all side streets within (Jubilee Drive is included).

6. Heritage Elementary
Greenfield Apts; Bright Star Court; Winston Ridge Road and all side streets to Concord Turnpike including Winchester Street, but not including Jubilee Drive.

7. Linkhorne Elementary
From Hollins Mill Road and Blackwater Creek south along Blackwater Creek to city limits; from Hollins Mill Road and Blackwater Creek north on Dinwiddie Street to Rivermont Avenue including all of Dinwiddie Street south on Rivermont Avenue to Cabell Street; east on Cabell Street (including Cabell Street) to I Street; north on I Street to the James River and all side streets within.

8. Perrymont Elementary
Hillside Court/Birchwood Apts.

9. Sheffield Elementary
Old Mill/Millwood/Millstream Apts.

10. Sandusky Elementary
Lynchburg High/College Hill Apts. #2

C. Middle School Zones

1. Linkhorne Middle
James River to 8th Street; 8th Street to Monroe Street; Monroe Street to 10th Street; 10th Street to Sounthern Railroad line; Southern Railroad line to Memorial Avenue (including west side of Memorial Avenue) to Langhorne Road (including north side only); Langhorne Road to Hill Street; Hill Street to Broadway Street; Broadway to Center Street (excluding Center Street); Center Street to N & W Railroad line to West of city limits (excluding Chapel Lane) all streets north to the city limits.

2. Paul Laurence Dunbar Middle School for Innovation
James River to 12th Street (including 12th Street); Grace Street to 15th Street (excluding Grace Street); 15th Street to Kemper Street (including 15th Street); Kemper Street to Lynchburg Expressway; Lynchburg Expressway to Wards Road; Wards Road to Fort Avenue; Fort Avenue to line between Westview Drive and Moseley Drive; a line between Moseley Drive and Westview Drive to Blackwater Creek at Sandusky Park; Blackwater Creek to the APCO power line (west of Custer Drive); APCO power line to the intersection west city limits; N & W Railroad line (excluding Breezewood Drive) all roads north to Linkhorne Middle School Boundary.

3. Sandusky Middle
James River to 12th Street (not including 12th Street);Grace Street to 15th Street (including Grace Street) 15th Street to Kemper Street (not including 15th Street); Kemper Street to Lynchburg Expressway to Wards Road; Wards Road to Fort Avenue; Fort Avenue to line between Westview Drive and Moseley Drive; a line between Moseley Drive and Westview Drive to Blackwater Creek at Sandusky Park; Blackwater Creek to the APCO power line (east of the Custer Drive); APCO power line to the intersection east city limits; N & W Railroad line (including Breezewood Drive) all roads south to Linkhorne Middle School boundary.

D. High School Zones

1. E. C. Glass
From James River west on 8th Street (including 8th Street) to Taylor Street all side streets north; south on Taylor Street to 10th Street; west on 10th Street all side streets west including 10th Street to Park Avenue; from Park Avenue south on Southern Railroad line to the expressway south to Liggates Road all side streets west; from expressway north on Liggates Road to the north of New Hampshire Avenue northwest on an imaginary line between New Hampshire Avenue and Rhode Island Avenue to Thomas Road and all side streets north; from an imaginary line between McCausland Street and Shirley Road to Blackwater Creek to the south of Weeping Willow; imaginary line between Weeping Willow and Fleetwood Drive to the intersection of LakesideDrive and Wyndale Drive and all streets north; west on Lakeside Drive to Old Forest Road to Wiggington Road and all streets east; north on Wiggington Road to the APCO power line and all side streets north.

2. Heritage High School

This action also includes the following:

a. Beginning with the 1993-94 school year, the following adjustments to zone "The Lakeside Drive/to New Expressway Change."

b. Entering high school for the first time, will be assigned to Heritage High School. This phasing process will be completed with the incoming ninth graders in 1989-90.

c. For the 1985-86 school year students residing in this area will have the option of attending Heritage High School; however, transportation will not be furnished to Heritage.

d. Students, previously enrolled at E. C. Glass, may choose to transfer to Heritage; however, once this option is selected, the student may not return to E. C. Glass. Furthermore, a student who exercises this option may lose a semester of athletic eligibility.

e. Beginning in 1986-87, transportation will be provided to both schools through the completion of 1988-89 school year.
