Sheffield's Grading Policy and Procedures for Grades 3-5

Grades are calculated  using a Total Points System. This means all grades are added together and divided by the total number of assignments to determine the student's average.

Grades will be posted in Edline on a weekly basis. grades from the previous week will be posted on Mondays unless that monday is a holiday. In those cases, the grades will be posted on Tuesday.

Please understand that assignments are not necessarily going to be graded the day they are turned in. This is especially true for large assignments such as tests,essays, and projects. Your student took care and time to thoroughly complete the assignment and that effort deserves time to carefully and thoughtfully grade it.

If an assignment has no grade beside it, please check with your student to make sure that the assignment was completed and turned in to the teacher for grading. Encourage your student to make arrangements. with the teacher for grading. Encourage your student to make up any misssing work in a timely manner so they do not receive an incomplete or zero for the assignment.
