Dear LCS community,

We have some highlights to share with you from our Special School Board Meeting on Friday, January 21, 2022.

Dr. Kerry Gately and Cali Anderson from the Central Virginia Health Department discussed the status of COVID-19 in the Lynchburg community.

Several members of the community expressed concerns regarding the LCS Health Mitigation Plan. Those speaking in public, sending emails, and leaving voice messages shared their opinions that included those who favor the mask mandate and others who oppose it.

The School Board voted to support Dr. Edwards’ recommendation to continue the mask mandate as outlined in the LCS Health Mitigation Plan
