Dear LCS community,
We have some highlights to share with you from our School Board Meeting on Tuesday, June 7, 2022.
The Lynchburg City School Board has approved the superintendent’s recommendation to hire Karen Capozzi as the new Chief Financial Officer, Dr. Reid Wodicka as the new Deputy Superintendent for Operations & Strategic Planning, Samuel Coleman as the new Chief Academic Officer, and Dr. Annitra Leigh as the new Principal of Sandusky Middle School. Superintendent Dr. Crystal Edwards recommended and the School Board approved the 2022-23 Operating Budget. The Operating Budget proposal is pending the approval of final state revenue.
Director of Equity and Community Relations Ethel Reeves discussed information regarding the Equity Task Force. The Equity Task Force will work in two areas which include the achievement gap and mentoring. During the Board Member Comments, board members expressed their appreciation for the hard work of all LCS employees.
