Students and employees will be required to wear face coverings while on all LCS property. All masks and face coverings must cover the nose and mouth and may not contain holes, valves, or mesh material. Bandanas, neck gaiters, and scarves are not permitted. Face shields without an underlying mask or acceptable face covering described in Policy JHCCAZ/GBEY are not permitted. See the LCS Face Coverings FAQ for more details.
To protect LCS students, faculty, and staff, parents should complete a daily health screening of their child using the COVID-19 Health Screening Questions listed below. Parents will screen students before leaving for school and keep students at home if they have symptoms consistent with COVID-19 or if they have had close contact with a person diagnosed with COVID-19. Staff will screen themselves following the same protocols above.
LCS will engage in symptom screening as students/staff enter campus, consistent with public health guidance, which includes visual wellness checks and temperature checks with no-touch thermometers, and ask all students/staff about COVID-19 symptoms within the last 24 hours and whether anyone in their home has had COVID-19 symptoms or a positive test.

Reporting/Notification and Response
Parents or guardians should notify their school administrator or school nurse in the event that their child shows symptoms of COVID-19 or tests positive for COVID-19. LCS staff will work with the local health department for contact tracing and notify any staff and parents or guardians of any student who may have been exposed. Any exposed areas in which a symptomatic individual or an individual who tested positive for COVID-19 will be properly cleaned and disinfected, and LCS staff will consult with the local health department to determine if closure of facilities or school buildings is warranted, and if so, for how long. Daily updates of new positive COVID-19 cases reported can be found on the LCS homepage.
