Yearbooks for $15.00 until February 5.

Learning Lions After School program will be held January 11, 13, 20, and 27 - 3:45 - 5:00

The Enrichment group will be visiting Lynchburg Museum and Point of Honor 9:15 - 2:00 on January 15.

Students do not attend school January 18th or 25th.

The End of the 3rd six weeks will be January 22 and report cards go home January 29.

Special Note on Birthday Parties and Snacks Posted on October 13th, 2009

A birthday is a very special day for any child, but we askt that celebrations not take place during the instructional day.  This ensures that both teachers and students do not lose valuable instructional time and learing.  Just a reminder, balloons and or flowers are not allowed to accompany a child on the school bus. 

Snacks should consist of healthy foods such as muffins, fruits/vegetables, cheese cubes or raisins

Oct. 13 - H1N1 Vaccination forms need to be returned to LES by Thursday Oct. 15 if you want your child to be vaccinated.   The vaccine is being made available to every student free of charge. 

Oct. 15  and Oct 19  - Conference Nights 3:45 - 7:30   Please call and set up a conference with your child’s reading teacher.

Oct. 16 - 2nd Grade trip to Point of Honor  9:15 - 1:30

Oct. 23 - 3rd grade trip to Virginia Beach Aquarium

Oct. 24 - Make a Difference Day - LES is joining LMS in collecting items for Lynchburg’s Victory Houses.  The houses were built to meet short tem housing needs for people who have experienced a house fire or any natural disaster requiring them to leave their homes.   We are collecting the following items:

toothpaste, toothbrushes, shampoo, conditioner, hair burshes, combs, toilet paper, tissues, hand soap, bath soap, sheets (twin size) blankets, bath towels, wash cloths, cleaning supplies, kitchen items, quart, gallon plastic bags, dishes, silverware, laundry detergent, laundry baskets, paper towels, kitchen towels, dish detergent, small furniture such as tables, chairs, lamps.  Either send them to school or take directly to the Victory Houses at 615 Leesville Road on Make a Difference Day on Oct. 24.

April 29 is Field Day.  Be sure to wear comfortable clothes and atheletic shoes.  Parents are welcome to come watch the events.
