Who May Apply – Lynchburg City Schools Pre-Kindergarten

1. Lynchburg City Schools is accepting applications for children that will be four years old by September 30, 2010.
2. Parents of children who are residents of Lynchburg City. 
3. Acceptance is based on children with the greatest academic, social economic and developmental need.

How to Apply

1. Complete the Pre-Kindergarten Application and return it to one of the following by March 31, 2009:
   1. In person at any Lynchburg City elementary school, the Parent Resource Center, or the Head Start Center
   2. By mail to the address at the bottom of the form
   3. By mail or fax to Mrs. Barbara Parks

2. Applications are available online or at one of the following locations: Head Start Centers, Lynchburg Health Department, any Lynchburg City elementary school, Johnson Health Clinic, The Parent Resource Center, Lynchburg Community Action Group, Inc., nursery schools, and Carl B. Hutcherson Early Learning Center.

Selection Process – Lynchburg City Schools Pre-Kindergarten

1. Only children who will be four (4) on or before September 30, 2010 will be screened.
2. Screening will determine eligibility.
3. Once the child has been accepted, the parent/guardian will be contacted by letter.

Selection in the Programs

Once accepted to the Lynchburg City Schools Pre-Kindergarten program you will need to provide the following information at the beginning of the school year:

1. The child's state birth certificate
2. A current physical examination
3. The child's immunization record
4. The child's social security number

If your child is selected for the Lyn-CAG Head Start Program you will need to complete an application and provide the following information.

1. Proof of total family incomes
2. Proof of birth
