Bedford Hills Students Raise Money for Lynchburg Humane Society

BHS Donation to Humane SocietyKindergarten students at Bedford Hills Elementary School have been earning money all year and in June presented their donations to the Lynchburg Humane Society.

Students put plastic teddy bears into a jar for great behavior and achievements. Each time the jar filled up, they got a visit from Buddy, their teacher’s dog. During each visit, the children got to put $5.00 into their bank.

The donation has been made to the humane society in memory of Dr. William F. Quillian, Jr., who was a past president of Randolph Macon Woman’s College. Laura Murphy, the Assistant Director of Development for the LHS visited the class in June and was presented with the final donation of $40.
