E. C. Glass Theatre is set to wow Lynchburg audiences again with the return of “Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat.” Based on the well-known Biblical saga, this contemporary musical tells the story of Joseph, a boy blessed with prophetic dreams, who is sold into slavery by his jealous brothers and taken to Egypt where he endures a series of adventures in which his spirit and humanity are continually challenged.

The production will feature a cast of more than 70 talented student actors, dancers, singers, and musicians with a full, live orchestra, lavish costumes, and spectacular technical effects.

Performances are at 7:30 p.m. on March 16, 17, 22, 23 and 24 and at 2:30 p.m. on March 18 and 24 at the E.C. Glass Auditorium. Tickets are $12 for adults and $8 for students and seniors. Tickets are available at www.ecglasstheatre.org as well as at the E. C. Glass Auditorium Lobby Box Office weekdays from 11 am to 1 pm.

E. C. Glass Theatre first staged this production in 1995 with record-breaking audiences. “Lynchburg loves this show,” said Jim Ackley, director of the drama department.  “We always have requests to bring it back. So this is the year.”
