Every LCS student received a free copy of Lynchburg Legs, courtesy of Live Healthy Lynchburg, in partnership with the Central Virginia Health District. The new children’s book was written by Dr. Rachel Gagen, a local pediatrician, and was inspired by a vision cast by former mayor, Joan Foster, to write a book about all the fascinating places that can be accessed in downtown Lynchburg.

Lynchburg Legs is a story about friendship, history, fun, and a good dose of healthy walking and priority on good nutrition.

Dr. Gagen, Mrs. Foster, and senior health educator Leslie Hoglund will be reading this book to classrooms at Paul Munro, Dearington, and Sheffield elementary schools as part of American Education Week.

A community book walk of Lynchburg Legs will be held on Friday, November 16 at 4:00 p.m., beginning outside of Amazement Square at the corner of 9th Street and Jefferson Street.
