Lynchburg City Schools is pleased to welcome local and state legislators to a legislative breakfast this Friday, November 8th from 9:00-11:00 a.m. at E. C. Glass High School.

Coordinated by the Virginia School Boards Association (VSBA), the goal of Take Your Legislator to School month is to build stronger relationships between schools and legislators. This event gives legislators an opportunity to observe what is going on in Virginia schools, and it also provides Virginia's students an opportunity to meet and interact with elected officials.

LCS School board members and Lynchburg city council members will also be in attendance. The discussion part of the meeting begins at 9:30 a.m., with greetings from Mayor Treney Tweedy followed by an Introduction of Legislative Priorities by LCS Superintendent Crystal Edwards. After that, Legislative Advocacy Committee Members, including board members Robert Brennan, James Coleman, Susan Morrison, and Michael Nilles, and Superintendent Dr. Edwards, will share the Lynchburg City Schools Legislative Agenda Priority Presentation.

For those interested in attending, please check in at the main office with your state-issued ID to receive your visitor sticker.
