Dear LCS community,

We have some highlights to share with you from our Tuesday, August 16, 2022, Lynchburg City School Board Work Session.

Lakrisha Scott, Director of Human Resources, provided the Board with an update on the 2022-23 school year staffing. LCS has hired 116 teachers, leaving only 35 vacancies. To address the current vacancies, classrooms have been combined, substitute teachers will assist, and teachers may work additional class periods to assure that students will continue to have a great educational experience.

Superintendent Dr. Crystal Edwards thanked all staff and community members for making the start of the new school year excellent.

See more about the discussions, actions, and information by viewing the 8-16-2022 School Board Work Session on the LCS YouTube channel and the updated documents on the 8-16-2022 Agenda.
