This is your Board Meeting Brief for the December 13th School Board Work Session.

The meeting began with a public hearing on the 2023-24 School Operating Budget to get feedback from the public. As a part of the budget calendar, another public hearing will be held in March.

The work session began with a discussion of the 2023-24 High School Program of Studies. The program of studies was presented to the School Board last week and was approved at the Work Session.

Chief Academic Officer Sam Coleman and Director of Equity and Community Relations Ethel Reeves then presented on the mentoring and tutoring efforts at LCS. Kathy Dills, Linkhorne Middle School Principal, spoke about the mentoring program’s effect on her school.

The Board also began budget discussions for the next school year. As an initial budget priority proposed by administration, Superintendent Dr. Crystal Edwards presented the “15-50” plan.

The Board will work through the budget process over the next several months.

The next School Board Meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, January 10, 2023,  at 5:00 p.m. in the Board Room of the School Administration Building.
