LOCALLY SOURCED MILK AT BHS!

Bedford Hills is participating in a pilot to serve milk at lunch from a local dairy farm. We are the first school in the Commonwealth to serve local farm fresh milk to our students. The LCS School Nutrition Program, in partnership with the Dairy Alliance and Homestead Creameries, will offer 1% white and chocolate milk that students will self-serve from a milk dispenser. The Dairy Alliance has provided the dispenser, which is meant to hold milk at the optimal temperature of 35°F. We are launching the pilot in stages, and will begin with the 5th grade this week. We plan to introduce all grades to the new milk option before the end of the school year. Bedford Hills is excited to be a part of this initiative to source local milk in support of our local farmers!!

VIOLIN

On SOL testing days, violin classes will be held outside the bus lobby until testing is complete. There will be a music stand with a sign stating that outside the cafeteria door. No violins may be left in the music room hallway. Once testing has concluded for the day, the stand will be removed and classes will resume in the music room.

There will be no violin classes on Friday, May 3 due to the Busch Gardens trip for students in grades 5 and 6.

Our final evening concert will be Tuesday May 28. This is a change from the date listed on the April calendar. Please plan to attend.

All 5th graders and students who have completed a book this year need to select a solo and begin practicing it daily. It must be from the book completed and can not be a fiddle or patriotic tune. The solo recital will be on May 23 at Presser Hall, Randolph College.
