ALL RETURNING FAMILIES WITH NEW AND RETURNING CHILDREN (K-12), please use the Infinite Campus Parent website to register your children. If you do not have an Infinite Campus Parent account set up, please contact your child’s school to do this. Using the Infinite Campus will save you time because you will not have to re-enter basic information that the school already has and will prevent duplicate entries of your child. All you will need to do is update any changes and add any new children (for example if you have children attending LCS already and have a kindergarten student attending for the first time) before submitting the online registration application through your Infinite Campus Parent account.

For parents unable to to complete online registration at home, LCS will have kiosks set up at various school sites for you to use. Simply contact the school your child will be attending, or the School Administration Building, to set up a time to use a kiosk.
Proof of Residency
Be prepared to provide two current forms of proof of residency. This applies to both new and returning students for all schools. A driver’s license is not considered a proof of residency.
Valid proof of residency includes:
- Current utility bill (gas, oil, electric, water, cable, land line)
- Rent/mortgage agreement
- Current rent receipts with address on receipt
- Closing papers of home purchased
- City registration of vehicle (The City of Lynchburg requires that vehicles be registered within 30 days of moving to Lynchburg)
If you do not have the above, and you and your children are living with someone else in the city, you need to provide the division with the following:
- a notarized letter from the person with whom you are living, stating that the parent/guardian and child are residing with them at this address, and the date they moved to this address; and
- two proofs of residency from the person with whom you are living (the name on the notarized letter needs to match the name on the two proofs of residency).
The federal McKinney-Vento Act guarantees school enrollment to anyone who, due to a lack of permanent housing, lives in an inadequate or temporary setting, such as: emergency shelters or domestic violence shelters; motels, hotel, or campgrounds due to lack of an an adequate alternative; cars, parks, public places, bus or train stations, or abandoned buildings; or doubled up with relatives or friends due to loss of housing or economic hardship.
Universal Fast Pass (UFP)
What is a Universal Fast Pass (UFP)?
You can get a UFP once you have completed online registration AND provided your two proofs of residency.
What’s so great about a UFP?
A UFP is good for ALL LCS schools. This means, you can get your UFP at one location, but use it at all schools where your children are registered.
When and where do I get a UFP?
This year, LCS is going to provide multiple days and locations over the summer to provide parents with a UFP. Even if you don’t have children attending the school where we will be giving out the UFP, you can still get a UFP at that location.
When do I use my UFP?
On Enrollment Day, which is Thursday, August 8, 2019 (all schools except Bass).

Enrolling in Pre-K or Kindergarten
Prior to entry for the first time to any public pre-k, kindergarten or to any public elementary school, a child must have a comprehensive physical exam by a qualified licensed physician; the scope of this examination is prescribed by the State Department of Health. Any transfer student enrolling in Lynchburg City Schools for the first time from another state must have a comprehensive physical exam. The physical exam must have been completed within twelve months prior to enrollment. Admission of students without a physical examination is not allowed! Children who are five years old by September 30th are eligible to attend kindergarten. Children who are four years old by September 30th are eligible to apply for LCS Pre-Kindergarten.
Before a child may enter school, the parent or guardian is asked to provide the following records:
- The child’s birth record

- The child’s current physical examination record must be submitted before the child can be enrolled

- The child’s immunization record (Immunization Requirements)
6th Grade Immunization Requirements
The 2006 Virginia General Assembly enacted a law which requires all 6th grade students to have a tetanus, diphtheria, pertussis (Tdap) booster immunization prior to entrance to 6th grade. This shot is required if at least five years have passed since the last shot. Each parent must provide the proper documentation for this immunization prior to the start of the school year.
The school division has the right to exclude your child from school if this requirement is not met.
The Tdap immunization can be received at your doctor’s office, military clinic, or local health department. The health department provides the immunization free for 6th grade enrollment and they require that you bring your most updated immunization record.
New Students (all grades)
Please bring a copy of your child’s state-issued birth certificate, physical exam, and immunization records.
