The start of school is  here, and we are excited to welcome students back to Lynchburg City Schools for the 2021-22 school year. LCS is pleased to offer in-person instruction, five days a week, and our teachers can’t wait to re-engage with students, ready to meet all individual learning needs.

To ensure the health and safety of all students and staff, Lynchburg City Schools will continue to use mitigation strategies to prevent the potential spread of COVID-19. All students, staff, and visitors will continue wearing masks on buses and indoors in schools, regardless of vaccination status; social distancing will be maintained to the extent possible; and we will continue to encourage the practice of good personal hygiene.

Remember, this school year brings new start and stop times, as well as new bus routes. If you do not have correct bus routes, please fill out the Bus Route Issues Request Form.

Also this year: all students will receive school meals at no cost.  No meal application is required. For more details, and for additional health and safety information, please visit the Back to School section of our website.

As always, Lynchburg City Schools is here to support every student, by name and by need, to  graduation. We are excited about the new school year and are looking forward to welcoming students back to our buildings!
