On May 30, 2011, in front of hundreds of relatives, while listening to the sweet sounds of “Pomp and Circumstance,” the class of 2011 received their high school diplomas. At E. C. Glass, 307 students received diplomas. Fifty percent of those seniors graduated with an Advanced Studies Diploma, and 21% graduated as part of the National Honor Society. These students will attend more than 70 colleges around the country.

At Heritage High School, 223 graduates tossed their caps in the air. Forty-seven and  a half percent of students received Advanced Studies Diplomas and 9% of the graduates are part of the National Honor Society. Many of the Heritage graduates plan to continue their education, going to one of 42 colleges around the country. 

Combined, students from both E. C. Glass and Heritage High School earned a total of $7,794,221 worth of scholarships. Below is a list of colleges the Lynchburg City Schools Class of 2011 will attend:
