Special sendoff courtesy of your LCS Band Directors:
The LCS Band Directors, including Russ Pawlas (ECG), Doug Brown (HHS), Matthew Minick (LMS), Jeff Scruggs (DMS), and Kenneth Brand (SMS) all recorded tracks on multiple instruments to provide a completed version of Pomp and Circumstance for the Class of 2020. SMS band director Kenneth Brand compiled all the recordings for the final product using Smart Music, which is an online program also available to students.

VIRTUAL FIELD DAY

Lynchburg City Schools invites students, parents, teachers—anyone who wants to get up and move—to join us on this Friday, May 29, for our Virtual Field Day!

So, how do you participate in a Virtual Field Day? Simply log on to the Continuity of Learning site at www.lcsedu.net/at-home on May 29. We will have a full schedule of activities that includes singing, dancing, jumping, coloring, and so much more!

You don't want to miss this exciting event. Mark your calendars now, and even if you are not able to join us on the day, we will have our Virtual Field Day activities available for you all summer long.

LCS CHOICE BOARDS

This is the last week that new activities will be posted to the Continuity of Learning site at www.lcsedu.net/at-home. However, that doesn’t mean you have to stop making use of the choice boards. We will be keeping the choice boards posted for you to use all summer. The internet access sites will still be available for you to use throughout the summer for families who do not have internet access. You can click here to see a full list of the internet access sites.

Remember the last day to pick up elementary packets is Friday, May 29 between 11:00 a.m. and noon. You can pick up the packets at any of the meal distribution sites, including the command centers and neighborhood centers.

MEAL SERVICE CONTINUES IN THE SUMMER

LCS School Nutrition will continue to distribute breakfasts and lunches on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays throughout the summer. Curbside pick-up is available at the four school command center sites (LMS, DMS, ECG, and HHS) and six Parks & Rec neighborhood centers from 11:00 a.m. to noon. LCS buses and vans will deliver meals between 11:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. using the routes established during the school closures. Meals are free to all children ages 18 and younger.

Thank you to all our students and families for working with us during this school closure!
