The Lynchburg City Schools Education Foundation, Inc. is pleased to announce that $74,500 in sponsored scholarship money was awarded to 24 Lynchburg City School students through the foundation to be applied to their college education. Scholarships were awarded to the following LCS students:

Belvac Production Machinery awarded two $500 scholarships recognizing leadership, scholastic achievement, community service, and ability to overcome personal, family, or other circumstantial obstacles: Jordan Dominie (E. C. Glass), Javar Saunders (Heritage)

Excellence In Science Scholarship of $30,000 is awarded to one top science student receiving an advanced studies high school diploma, possessing a GPA of 3.8 or higher, and planning to enter a science-related field: Laurel Logan (E. C. Glass)

Greater Lynchburg Community Foundation awarded two $500 scholarships to students recognizing scholastic achievement and community service: Taylor Morgan (Heritage), Thomas Stokes (E. C. Glass)

James Howard Scholarship of $500 to one Heritage High School football player demonstrating strong character on the field and showing great promise for the future as selected by his coach: Kentayven Howard-Vaughan

Lynchburg Junior Woman’s Club awarded two $1,000 scholarships to students who plan to continue their education at an accredited college, university, or vocational training program and who have demonstrated a very strong commitment to community service: Graysen Adams (Heritage), Zoe Nylund (E. C. Glass)

Lynchburg Morning Rotary Club awarded two $500 scholarships to students pursuing a career in the trades: Bria Jennings (Heritage), Andrew Douglas Simon (E. C. Glass)

MH Masonry & Associates awarded two $500 scholarships to students recognizing scholastic achievement and community service: Brian Trent (Heritage), Alyssa Underwood (E. C. Glass)

Orthodontic Arts awarded one $500 scholarship to a Heritage student who plans to advance their education in a field of nursing, dentistry, or medicine: Taylor Morgan

Al Stroobants Foundation awarded a total of $21,000 to students pursuing a career in the trades: Bria Jennings (Heritage), India Poindexter (Heritage), Andrew Douglas Simon (E. C. Glass), Andrea Smith (E. C. Glass), Luke Tyree (Heritage)

The Stroobants Foundation Scholarship of $13,000 is awarded to one student who has been nominated for outstanding work in a career tech class and recognized for scholarship, leadership, and compassion for other students. Adam Palmer (Heritage)

Taylor Brothers of Lynchburg awarded two $500 scholarships to students recognizing scholastic achievement and community service: Kaitlyn Matthews (E. C. Glass), Brandon Tweedy (Heritage)

Technical and Management Resources, Inc. awarded two $1,000 scholarships and a chromebook to each recipient recognizing leadership, scholastic achievement, and community service for African American students: Victoria Jenkins (E. C. Glass), Victoria Johnson (Heritage)

Stacy Knight Westgate Scholarship of $500 to one Heritage High School baseball player demonstrating strong character on the field and showing great promise for the future as selected by his coach: Jackson Walter
