The February 16, 2021 work session of the Lynchburg City School Board will be held in the Dunbar Middle School Auditorium. The meeting will begin at 5:00 p.m.

The larger location allows for better social distancing for board members and public attendees.

Lynchburg City School Board welcomes the attendance of persons at its public meetings. To reduce the spread of the COVID-19 virus, any person wishing to attend the public meetings in person will be required to participate in a health pre-screening upon arrival. The health pre-screening will consist of:

  • wearing a secure face mask over the mouth and nose in accordance with LCS policy JHCCAZ/GBEY;
  • having your temperature checked; and
  • answering a few pre-screening questions.

These measures are precautionary and put in place to protect our staff, students, school board members, and community from the spread of COVID-19. LCS staff will begin pre-screening persons at 4:30 p.m. Only persons who pass the health pre-screening will be admitted into the public board meeting.

If a person does not pass the health screening, the person may still view the public board meetings which are streamed live on YouTube at 5:00 p.m. Meetings are rebroadcast daily on Comcast Cable Channel 17 at 10:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m., and available online on the LCS YouTube channel.

As a reminder work sessions are different from meetings. They are designed for the school board to discuss procedures and at times vote on recommendations. However, there is not a time for public comments during work sessions. The next school board meeting where public comments are welcomed is March 2, 2021 at 5:00 p.m.

Until further notice, future board meetings and work sessions will continue to be held in the Dunbar Middle School auditorium unless otherwise posted on www.lcsedu.net/schoolboard/meetings. The public will be notified in advance of any changes.
