Lynchburg City Schools (LCS) is excited to announce that the Johnson Health Center Mobile Dental Unit will offer optional dental exams at all of our elementary schools and Hutcherson and T. C. Miller academies between January and March. This preventive dental care option is a convenient way to promote student well-being. It can also bolster attendance and academic performance by addressing oral health concerns early.

Treatment may include a dental exam, x-rays, intraoral photos, teeth cleaning, fluoride varnish, X-rays, dental sealants, and/or silver diamine fluoride. Learn more here.

Participation is totally optional. If you DO NOT want your child to be seen in the mobile dental clinic, you don’t need to do anything. If you DO want your child to be seen in the mobile dental clinic, complete this packet (español) by Thursday, Dec. 18. No late forms will be accepted.

Once you successfully submit the form online, you’ll see an option to print or download a copy. From there, you’ll be all set–no need to turn in a physical copy! If you are unable to complete the packet online, you can print a physical copy (español) and submit the completed form to your child’s school nurse. You can reach out to your child’s school nurse if you need a printed copy.

The Johnson Health Center Mobile Dental Clinic will see children with private dental insurance, FAMIS/Medicaid, or no dental Insurance, provided they have NOT received a dental exam within the past six months. A reduced fee is available to those without dental insurance who qualify financially. See the packet for more details.
