Lynchburg City School String students in grades 7-9 auditioned in Charlottesville in January for placement in the Southwest Junior Regional Advanced and Intermediate Orchestras. Of the students selected to the regional orchestra, 25 percent of those are LCS students. The regional orchestra event will take place on March 23-24, 2018 at Heritage High School. The event will culminate with a concert at 2:00 p. m. on March 24 in the Heritage High School Auditorium that is open to the public. The following LCS students were selected to participate:
