Message from Mrs. Steele, Principal

Tomorrow is Spirit Day for Cohort A and Friday is Spirit Day for Cohort B!  Show your Husky Pride!

Do you need technology support but find it hard to connect with us during the school day? Our dedicated LCS team is here to help!
We are excited to bring to you a new evening technology support program for parents and students called Tech After Dark. Starting February 2nd, our LCS technology team will be at E. C. Glass High School on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Parents, guardians and students can call the Tech After Dark number at (434) 515-5395 during this time to receive technology assistance with broken devices, accessing the Infinite Campus parent or student portal, account issues and other questions about software like IXL, Seesaw and Google Classroom. Our technology support team will assist you over the phone, and, if necessary, make arrangements to meet with you to service devices as needed.

Also, don’t forget that LCS has T-Mobile internet hotspots for students with internet access needs, available at no charge. To request an internet hotspot, call your school principal, email [email protected], call the Tech After Dark phone number at (434) 515-5395 (during the times noted above), or fill out the Student Tech Assistance Form to request an internet hotspot.

Attendance/Participation

We really need the support of our families to make sure students have a schedule and are learning at home each day and/or attending in-person on hybrid days.  Please make sure your child is attending ZOOM sessions, watching instructional videos and completing work. Please communicate with the teacher or myself about any questions or challenges you have so we can work together on solutions. We know it is challenging, but with common expectations between home and school, we can help our children be successful!

If you child must miss school, remote or in-person, you need to notify the school, with the reason, by sending an email to [email protected]  or calling 434-515-5210 ext. 21008 or send in a written note the following day to Ms. Landrum, our attendance coordinator.

Message from Amanda Rumore, PTO President

Save the Date! Bedford Hills Elementary School will host a Read-a-thon March 1-12! The PTO, staff and teachers are working hard to plan this great event that kicks off during “Read Across America Week.” We will be providing updates every week of February. This will be our one-and-only major fundraiser for the year and we encourage participation from all BHS families!

Message from Mrs. Arp, BHS Librarian

Independent design and research are important parts of the library program this year, and we are going to kick it off with a T-Shirt Design Contest! Keep your eyes peeled next week on Google Classroom and SeeSaw for instructions and tutorials.

Starting the week of February 8th, hybrid students will be invited into the library for their scheduled library time. We have worked very hard to prepare the library to safely have classes experience our library space, and we can’t wait to see you there!
