Partners in Education
Perrymont enjoys a partnership with Lynchburg’s Waste Management Division. This partnership coordinates well with the recycling program that’s been in place at Perrymont for years. Students and friends bring in aluminum for recycling, and the funds generated are used for various school initiatives.
Perrymont also enjoys a partnership with Lynchburg Fire Department - Station #3. Members of this Fire Department take time out of their busy schedules to have lunch with our students, read to classes, and present programs on fire safety and life-saving techniques.
Fort Hill United Methodist Church has recently teamed up with Perrymont to help address academic needs through a weekly after-school tutoring program.
Four additional partnerships in which we are greatly appreciative are with:
- the Lynchburg Academy of Medicine Alliance
- Kids Cafe
All partnerships support school initiatives through a variety of methods.
The Lynchburg City School Division is accredited by the Virginia State Department of Education. Perrymont Elementary School is a partially accredited school as determined by the Standards of Learning criteria.
Perrymont staff welcomes and values volunteers. Perrymont students and staff benefit greatly from volunteers from our PTO, Lynchburg College, LAMA, and individuals from the community. Complete the volunteer application if you would like to become a part of our volunteer group.
