The Lynchburg City Schools Education Foundation, Inc. hosted our seventh annual Breakfast with the Superintendent on Thursday, March 14, 2013, 7:30 a.m., at Lynchburg College. This year's program, "Continuing the Tradition: Every Child, By Name and By Need, To Graduation," was presented by Lynchburg City Schools Superintendent, Dr. Scott S. Brabrand, as he approached the end of his first year as superintendent of Lynchburg City Schools. The large and enthusiastic audience reached record numbers and attendees enjoyed a dynamic and informative presentation outlining Dr. Brabrand’s vision for the Lynchburg City Schools and his plan to get every child, by name and by need, to graduation.
This event provided a unique opportunity for local business and community leaders as well as interested citizens to meet with school administrators to learn more about the Lynchburg City Schools. We would like to thank all of our sponsors for both their interest in, and support of, the Education Foundation’s initiatives and the Lynchburg City Schools. The Lynchburg City Schools Education Foundation, Inc. sponsors programs and activities designed to provide additional resources for teachers, recognize student accomplishments, and strengthen our schools. Proceeds from the breakfast are used by the Foundation to fund ongoing programs and projects such as Classroom Innovation Grants, the Tools4Schools Warehouse, scholars recognition, and student scholarships.
