HHS MCJROTC State Runner-upsThe Heritage High School Marine Corps JROTC finished in second place overall at the State Drill Meet at Little Creek Naval Base in Norfolk.

The cadets, who won the Western Region Drill Meet in order to qualify for the state competition, received second place in Color Guard, Platoon Armed and Platoon Inspection, and third in Exhibition Drill. The team narrowly missed a first place overall victory by six points.

The HHS team has been a regular competitor at the state level, and in 2011 was selected as a "School of Distinction." The group is losing just three seniors to graduation and plans to return strong next year to compete for the state title.

Team members include: Chris Conrad, Rebbeca Russell, Michael Colinayo, Matthew Keeney, Micah Votaw, Adrian Rees, Adina Francis, Matthew Nunley, Christopher Osen, Robert Quimen, Zachary Zimmerman,   Chase Finley, Alexandra Weiczorek, Danielle Scott, Christian Pettibone, Samuel Kong.
