In their final show of the year, Pioneer Theatre presents a dark comedy is set in a town that is being regularly attacked by arsonists. Disguised door-to-door salesmen (hawkers) talk their way into people's homes and settle down in the attic, where they set about the destruction of the house.
Tickets are $5. This is a coffeehouse setting. Desert is included in the price of a ticket. Note: Pioneer Theatre does not take reservations. Based on the Charles Dickens’ novel Oliver Twist, this show follows the journey of an orphan boy who escapes a miserable existence in a workhouse only to be led into the lair of an elderly criminal trainer. The story called attention to social evils during Dickens’ era, including child labor and recruitment of children as criminals.
